Infrastructure Overview

Automatic Laundry

The Institute has setup a state of art laundry plant to cater to the washing of hospital linen as well as the personal linen of all the students and the residents of the campus.


Satellite Clinics

The Institute has setup different satellite clinics in different rural/urban/semi-urban areas namely Village Killchian, Village Shakur, Cental Jail, Radha Swami Dhera, D.C. Model School, Shri Har Krishan Public School, Snatan Dharam Charitable Clinic and Cantonment Board Hospital.


Adoption of Villages

The Institute has adopted the village of Khillchian and Shakur for providing free dental health services to the habitants.


Generator Backup

The Institute has a 24x7 electricity generator backup which starts working as soon as main electrical supply goes off. No departmental section and any other area remains devoid of electric supply during such breakdown.


STP

The Institute is one of the few Institutions who has setup a state of art sewerage treatment plant which treats all the used solids as well as liquid waste and does not discharge these harmful matter into the environment. Treated water is utilized for irrigation the well maintained garden and lawns of the Institute.


Landscaping

The open spaces in and around the Institute has been beautifully landscaped by the professionals in the field and has been maintained in a spick and span state by team of gardeners of the Institute.


Solar Heating

Solar water heaters has been put up on the roof of the Institute which cater to the hot/warm water requirements of the kitchen / students & other resident of campus.


Campus

The Campus is built over 8 acres of prime land. It is ideally located on the GT Road, within city limits and easy accessibility.

It is surrounded by lush greenery amidst pollution free environs, conducive to a student life.

The campus is backed with 24 hours clean water, electricity and security thus providing a safe residence to its students and staffs.


Faculty Accommodation

Teaching Hospital

The course content is framed within the policy guidelines laid by the Dental Council of India & Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. The teaching methodology is structured to ensure "Progressive & Systematic' assimilation of theoretical knowledge & practical skills before a student is declared a trained professional for handling live cases.

The hospital has individual nine dental departments equipped with the most recent and modern state of the art equipments. Apart from these there are another eleven departments exclusively dealing with the basics of the students.

The classrooms are provided with the latest & most advanced available "Teaching Aids" like Digital cameras & Video equipment, Computers, LCD projectors & Audio systems.

Fully equipped phantom head labs simulating patients in all aspects ensure the best experience for students prior to work on the live patients.


Library

Library is 15000 Sq. Feet in area and is centrally air conditioned. All lecture theatres and departments are fully air conditioned.

The library at Genesis is one of its kinds, providing reading material and services of the highest quality. It is a center in itself that imbibes among the students the quest for knowledge and lifelong learning.

Not only to the undergraduates, postgraduates and staffs are also provided with innumerable scientific and research materials.

The design and setup gives a suitable environment for studying.

The library is supplied with good quality print materials which include – Foreign and Indian textbooks, Reference books, Scientific journals and Periodicals.

The entire library premise is enabled with high LAN and Wi-Fi, keeping pace with growing need and scientific update.

The college library also provides following facilities to it students and faculty:

  • E-Journals and textbooks
  • Scan and Xerox facility

Library working hours:

09:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs on week days

09:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs during examination days

09:00 hrs to 12: hrs on Sundays and holidays


Digital Library and IT Resources

Each department of Genesis is fully computerized.

The institute has its own unique licensed software that keeps record and management of the patients. It is a fool proof design that has given wings to the institute’s administration and its automation.

Students’ and patients’ grievances are addressed in a short speculated time over this software.

Digital library houses more than 25 high speed computers with internet facility.

Free browsing is provided to all the students of the institute.

It is provided with secure password that provides access to various scientific journals and textbooks by renowned international authors and publishers.

The entire campus is uniformly Wi-Fi enabled with broadband.

To ensure uninterrupted internet facility the Wi-Fi has been enabled on three separate servers accessible anywhere within the campus.


Hostel Accommodation

The rooms are air conditioned, fully furnished with attached toilets, TV and Fridge and there is 24 hrs hot water availability through solar water heaters.

 

Boys Hostel

Following will be the rules & regulations of the boys hostel:

  • No student will be permitted to enter the hostel after 9.00 p.m. If any student has some emergency or other needs he must take a written permission to come late by not more than one hour from the warden.
  • Fans and room lights must be switched off while leaving hostel. No other electric gadgets are to be used permission must be taken and charges, if any, must be paid. Volume of radios etc. must be kept low so as not to cause disturbance to others. Heaters are not at all permitted in the room.
  • Those who are using air-conditioners, computer have to pay additional electricity charges in advance. Staying back in the hostel when classes are in progress is not permitted except in pressing circumstances & with special written permission of the warden.
  • Students are not allowed to take mess utensils in their rooms except sick students. The other hostlers must ensure that the utensils are returned to the mess immediately after use.
  • Volume of radios & music systems etc. must be kept low so as not to cause disturbance to others & are not allowed to be used after 11.00 p.m. Any body found guilty will be fined Rs. 500/- per head. For any type of functions like Birthday parties or other celebrations in the hostel, permission has to be taken one day in advance from the warden and function must be concluded by 9.00 p.m. positively failing which a fine of Rs. 1000/- will be imposed on each participant.
  • Students must pay their mess bills latest by 10th of every month.
  • Students must ensure cleanliness of the hostel & the dustbins must be used properly.
  • No visitors, other than blood relations whose names have been given by the parents in writing are permitted to visit the students in the hostel. Only male members may be allowed in the hostel rooms. Female members are not allowed in the boys hostel. They may meet the students in the guest room only. No visitors including mothers are allowed to stay in the rooms overnight.
  •  
    • All rooms are provided with a telephone and Internet connection. Air-conditioning is also available in all the rooms.

Failure to follow the rules & regulations will be treated as indiscipline and dealt with as per conduct and discipline rules of College/Hostel.

Girls Hostel

Following will be the rules & regulation for the students staying in Girls Hostel.

  • No students will be permitted to enter the hostel after 6.00 p.m. in Winter & 7.00 p.m. in Summer. If any student has some emergency she must take written permission to come late from the warden. A fine of Rs. 500/- will be imposed on the late comers. The late comers will not be allowed to enter the hostel if they are late by more than 2 hours and the matter will be reported to parents.

OUTINGS

  • Maximum outings allowed are three per month to every student out of which two are local & one may be out station for home only.
  • The students must apply for permission of outing by giving specific reasons & details about the place of visit. For local outings and for out station outing for home, the student should take written permission from the warden & maximum five students can go together on the same day for local outing.
  • The time for local outing will be maximum of three hours & that too after the college hours or on a holiday.
  • For outstation outing, to other place than home, the students must get a written request from the parents & get it sanctioned from the Principal or authorized authority before proceeding.
  • The students will be going on outing at their own risk & responsibility.
  • If the student goes to some place other than home, a written permission is required, otherwise it will be treated as indiscipline and dealt with accordingly and parents will be informed.
  • If the student does not return to the Hostel before college time after the outing he/she will be treated as absent without permission.
  • Fan and room lights must be switched off while leaving hostel. No other electric gadgets are permitted to be used, if any other gadgets etc. are to be used, prior permission must be taken & charges, if any, must be paid before hand on monthly-basis as fixed by the authorities. Those who are using air-conditioners and computers with Internet facilities have to pay the stipulated amount as decided by the college authorities. Any flouting of these rules will incur fines as deemed fit by the authorities of the college.
  • At the time of power failure students are directed not to use heavy voltage electric appliances on generator supply, though the permission might have been obtained from warden on their use on normal electric supply.
  • Heaters, electric iron, electric kettles are not permitted to be used in the rooms. Anybody found using these will be fined Rs. 500/- per head and these appliances will be confiscated.
  • Volume of radios & music systems etc. must be kept low so as not to cause disturbance to others & are not allowed to be used after 11.00 p.m. Any body found guilty will be fined Rs. 500/- per head. For any type of functions like Birthday parties or other celebrations in the hostel, permission has to be taken one day in advance from the warden and function must be concluded by 9.00 p.m. positively failing which a fine of Rs. 1000/- will be imposed on each participant.
  • Staying back in the hostel when classes are in progress is not permitted except in pressing circumstances, that too, with the special written permission of the warden, otherwise, disciplinary action will be taken against the person found guilty of it.

  • Furniture & electric appliances (Fans, Tubes, T.V., Geysers etc.) provided to students by the college authorities in the hostel should be used carefully. Those found misusing, damaging or tampering with them, have to replace them.
  • Students are not allowed to take mess utensils to their rooms except sick students. The other hostlers must ensure that the utensils are returned to the mess immediately after use.
  • Students must ensure cleanliness of the hostel & the dustbins must be used properly.
  • No visitors, other than blood relations whose names have been given by the parents in writing are permitted to visit the students in the hostel. Only female members may be allowed to visit the hostel rooms. Male members are not allowed in the girls hostel and they may meet the students in the guest room only. No visitors including mothers are allowed to stay in the girls rooms overnight.

Sports Facility

 

The students of Genesis have access to various activities and sports.

After all, “all work and no play make Jack a dull boy”.

The campus has provision for both indoor and outdoor sports.

It has Football ground, Badminton, Basket ball and Volleyball courts.

Few to mention indoor games include – Table Tennis, Carom, and Chess.

The field courts are well lit with excellent flood lights for extended evening play.

The management has proposal for separate swimming pool within the campus for boys and girls.

Routinely the administration conducts inter-departmental and inter-year sports competition with awards and appreciation to all the participants.


Gymnasium

 

As very rightly said “Healthy mind resides in a healthy body”, we at Genesis provide the latest health equipments to ensure better health fitness.

The gymnasium is open for both the students and the staff members, with separate timings for the boys and girls.

The facility comes free with no additional cost.

The instruments and equipments include – Tread mills, Multigym, Weight plates, Medicine ball, Dumbbells, and Benches.

All these equipments meet the recommended international standard.


Dinning Hall

Dinning Hall is fully air conditioned with sitting capacity of more than 300 peoples.

The management of the kitchen is directly under the preview of Brig (Retd) P. Bhanot, Director Administrator.


Cafetaria

Genesis ensures that the students are provided with top hygienic and healthy food.

The cafeteria functions on “pay as you eat” concept.

Life is not less than a metro within the campus.

The cafeteria is open throughout the day till 10 pm night.

Eateries are enjoyed by most of our students in open lawn outside cafeteria at no additional cost.

During the time of examinations, the cafeteria is open late night.

It is backed up with air conditioner, music and television.

Variety of snacks and beverages, fresh juices are available.

The rates are rationed and affordable by the students.

The management of Genesis further plans to open more such cafeterias to cater more variety to the growing strength of the students and patients.


Guest House

Situated within the Genesis campus, the guest house offers clean and comfortable room accommodation with a friendly and homely atmosphere.

It provides air conditioned two double occupancy executive suites with well furnished interiors.

Services are available on 24 hour basis.

It has been rated best in its class both by foreign and Indian delegates till date.


Kitchen

This kitchen has best of equipments with Automatic Chapati maker which is making 1500 chapati per hour.

It is a fully hygienic kitchen serving both north and south dishes.


Security / CCTV

The security system in the genesis has further been ensured with the recent addition of sophisticated CC TV/infrared night vision cameras.

These have been placed at apt regions, highly sensitive zones with provision to monitor and record 24 x 7.

The present security system is also installed in boys’ and girls’ hostels, mess, canteen and the campus main entrance.


Auditorium

Situated on the first floor is the college auditorium which is large and spacious.

The design is unique, keeping in mind the growing student strength and participation.

It has a seating capacity for 550 members providing unrestricted clear viewing.

The auditorium is centrally air conditioned keeping in mind the comfort of the audiences.

The stage is well equipped with imported lighting & audiovisual system and a surround sound facility providing the best viewer experience.


Equipments

The institute has some of the latest equipments procured for both academic and patient treatment delivery purposes.

A few to mention are:

  • Smart boards- these are exclusively used in lecture hall teaching. These are electronically connected to the computer and institute server allowing simultaneous teaching through internet and powerpoint slides. An added advantage is elearning and sharing with distant renowned institutes situated elsewhere in the world.
  • High contrast LCD projectors – each lecture hall is equipped with high contrast LCD projectors. Apart from this individually each respective department seminar rooms are also provided with projectors. This step ensures an overall independent and smooth teaching for the students.
  • Digital cameras and HD Videography – allows faculty to record interesting cases. The record is in digitized format which are subsequently utilized in various ways some of which to mention are central record maintenance, retrospective study purposes, online consultations, export and import for second opinion elsewhere in the world.
  • Sterilization system – a very critically established and maintained protocol so much so that we have set up a dedicated department in the institute. The institute has got a central high pressure high volume/rapid sterilizer supported by advanced low volume sterilizer individually in every department. Chemical sterilization of non-autoclavable instruments, routine disinfection of the clinics and fumigation of the operation theaters are scheduled and governed by this department.
  • Advanced Medical Microscopes – have been provided in department of Oral and General Pathology, Histology and Physiology. We strictly follow the guidelines laid by the council and have ensured 1:1 student-equipment ratio. All the microscopes are functional and come under annual maintenance contract.
  • Surgical operating microscope – the latest advancement in the field of Endodontics and Endodontic microsurgery. One of its kinds in the region.
  •  The Department of Prosthodontics is equipped with equipments like Die Cutter and Die Pindex system, Heavy Duty Polishing with High suction machine, Vacuum die investment mixer, Swivel surveyor and Induction Casting machines.
  • The Department of Oral Pathology is equipped with NIKON-E200 Research microscope, Stereomicroscope, Phase contrast/Dark field microscope and Image analysis software. All are attached with live camera connected to computer screen display.
  • Department of Periodontics is equipped with state-of-the-art minor surgical equipments some of which to name are – Soft Tissue Diode Laser unit, Intraoral Camera with image capturing, and Electrosurgical kit.
  • Department of Orthodontics is equipped with equipments like – Biostar Machine, Hydrosolder Unit, and facility for Mini-Implants.
  • Department of Pedodontics has recently been upgraded with a High-tech Conscious Sedation unit ensuring apt child-dentist relationship.

Department of Conservative & Endodontics is equipped with Ceramic furnace and Rotatory endodontics. The department is well equipped with recent restorative materials
